Daily Routine

At Kent House Day Nursery, we follow a consistent daily routine to ensure your child feels comfortable, secure, and engaged throughout the day. Our routine includes a balanced mix of structured activities, play, rest, and meal times, all designed to support your child’s development and well-being.


  • Arrival: 8:00am – 8:30am
    Welcome! Children settle in, ready to start the day with exciting activities ahead.

  • Breakfast: 8:30am – 8:45am
    A nutritious breakfast to energize the children for the day’s adventures.

  • Circle Time: 9:00am – 10:00am
    Group activities, storytelling, and learning together in a fun, engaging way.

  • Nappy Change: 10:00am – 10:30am
    Time for a fresh change, ensuring everyone is comfortable.

  • Morning Snack: 10:30am – 11:00am
    A light snack to keep those little tummies full and happy.

  • Activities and Play: 11:00am – 12:00pm
    Children engage in a variety of creative and physical activities, both indoors and outdoors.

  • Lunch: 12:00pm – 12:30pm
    A healthy, freshly prepared meal enjoyed together.

  • Nappy Change: 12:30pm – 1:00pm
    Another fresh change before nap time.

  • Nap Time (flexible): 1:00pm – 3:00pm
    A restful nap for those who need it, or quiet time for older children.

  • Afternoon Snack: 2:00 pm – 2:15 pm
    For children who are awake or do not nap, we provide a healthy afternoon snack.
  • Tea: 3:00pm – 3:30pm
    A light tea to fuel the afternoon fun.
  • Activities and Play: 3:30pm – Departure
    More fun and creative play until home time.

  • Nappy Change: 4:00pm – 4:30pm
    One last fresh change before the day wraps up.

  • Last Departure: 6:00pm
    Time to head home, ready for tomorrow’s adventures!

Additional Notes:

  • Water cups are kept accessible to children all day, and we encourage them to drink water regularly to stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • We use our outdoor garden as much as possible for play and learning activities, giving children the chance to explore and enjoy fresh air.
  • Handwashing is part of our routine before and after every meal and snack to promote healthy hygiene habits.
  • Nappies are also changed any time your child needs it, especially after a poo!
